Christmas Offering 2022
1 Episode
It’s our third biggest weekend of the year! We’re going to raise and give away as much money as we can to support our partner charities, The Lake Area Free Clinic, Family Promise, The Bethany Recovery Center, The Oconomowoc Food Pantry, and more! Why? Because we’re rich! And people who are rich in this present world are to be rich in good deeds. In fact, that’s THE fruit of repentance that John the Baptist identified when people came out to be baptized. So, let’s be the church. Let’s be rich in good deeds. Let’s make our community a better place.
Who we are serving and what are they doing for the community?
1. Lake Area Free Clinic - Lake Area Free Clinic offers free medical and reduced-fee dental services to low-income residents of Waukesha County. https://www.lakeareafreeclinic.org
2. Family Promise - helps homeless families in Waukesha County. They don’t just provide shelter for the homeless but help families get back on their feet. https://www.familypromisewaukeshawi.org
3. Oconomowoc Food Pantry - is run and organized completely by volunteers and 100% of what we give goes directly to feeding the hungry in Lake Country. https://oconomowocfoodpantry.org
4. The Bethany Recovery Center - helps women, especially women who are pregnant or have young children, break free from addiction. https://bethany.org/service/bethany-recovery-center
5. Lighthouse Youth Center - has expanded to three locations in urban MKE neighborhoods, giving kids a safe place to come after school. Their focus on the kids is education, recreation, and spiritual formation. https://www.lighthouseyouthcenter.com/
6. Central City Church Planters - is committed to finding and training men to plant new churches in the central city of Milwaukee. They have seven planters they are working with and this fall they are planting their first church in central city Milwaukee. Urbanchurchplanters.org
7. Oconomowoc/Summit Police Officers - The local police departments are often first responders to people who have basic survival needs. While there are agencies that can help, none of them are open after 5pm, or on the weekends. Many police officers use their own personal resources to help people in need.
